Hi there,

Welcome to another edition of our NAAC e-alert. I know that we've all been patiently waiting for the lifting of lockdown restrictions, but the Government has announced that plans to end these in England on 21 June 2021, have been postponed by at least four weeks. This is to allow for more people to be vaccinated and better protected due to a rise in COVID cases!

NAAC would like to thank all their members and different organisations'?volunteers for everything they have done, prior to and during the Covid-19 crisis; cooking and feeding the homeless, setting up food banks, delivering food, picking up medicine, or checking in on people, all your efforts have proved to be invaluable.

NAAC Music & Dance Academy Update:?We have decided to restart our NAAC Music & Dance Academy classes from September 2021;?currently, keeping everyone safe is paramount.?However, to keep our members engaged, we have got a few exciting events and free workshops planned over the next few months and hope to see you all there.?

To celebrate International Day Of Yoga, NAAC have organised activities in the Formal Gardens at Wollaton Park on Saturday 26 June from 11am to 4pm, as part of the Wollaton Arts Festival to kickstart our events calendar. Mr. Darshan Sohal of? Patanjali Yog Peeth (UK) Trust will deliver the Yoga session, NAAC dance tutors Bhumika? and Ankita will lead on the Bollywood Zumba & Kathak dance and Multi lingual poetry by Mrs. Jai Verma, and Kavya Rang group poets.

Free workshops in Dhol and Bhangra will treat enthusiasts from the 24 June at The Hindu Temple Cultural & Community Centre for Dhol, and at The Nottingham Playhouse for Bhangra. A special thanks to?BeatFeet Drumming & Dance Workshops for organising these with NAAC, not forgetting Hindu Temple for accommodating the Dhol workshops and Nottingham Playhouse for supporting these with their stalls foyer dance space. Please note all workshops will be booked?on a first come first served basis.?

Please remember to follow the good practice guidance whether at work, in a community setting or at home; hands, face, space and fresh air.?It is still vitally important that if you develop COVID symptoms, you self-isolate and book a test right away ? even if already been vaccinated. Symptomatic tests (PCR) are available to everyone who has one or more of the main COVID symptoms: a new, continuous cough, a high temperature, or a loss / change of sense of smell or taste.?PCR tests are?bookable online?or by calling 119.?Free asymptomatic testing is also available for everyone in the country and is encouraged for everyone who is in close contact with others for work. Lateral flow tests are available for home delivery and collection from local testing sites. From today if you, or anyone you know, is aged 18 or over you can now book your COVID-19 vaccination. We can all work together to help Nottingham continue to unlock safely and?protect ourselves and our loved ones.

Walk-in appointments

If you are aged 40-49, a carer, front line health worker or in at risk groups and?haven't yet had your first dose?of the vaccine, walk-in appointments are available at Forest Recreation Ground and King?s Meadow Campus sites for first doses. No need to book!
