Amira hasn’t seen her sons in four years.

The 62-year-old mother from Syria was trapped in Vathy refugee camp on the island of Samos, Greece waiting to see her sons, and to receive critical medical care. After six months, she was moved to a hotel on the island to help her manage multiple chronic conditions.

Vathy camp was created to house 650 people, but approximately 4,300 people are currently living there. Refugees in the camp are facing deteriorating resources, poor living conditions, and exposure to the elements, among other dangers.
