Our Message to G7 LeadersLast Saturday over 1,000 protesters got in the water to send a clear message to those in power: We are facing an ocean and climate emergency and drastic action needs to happen NOW. Our leaders may have let us down with half-hearted promises and no further investment or legally binding agreements to back up their claims—but we’re not done. We plan to come back louder than ever. With COP26, the most prominent climate conference of the decade less than five months away, we’re gearing up for a new wave of activity to make sure our demands are met. Seaspiracy Director, Ali Tabrizi, sat down with CEO, Hugo Tagholm, to discuss Ali's 30x30 campaign, the need for high level ocean protection and the public momentum that’s building - before jumping in the ocean to join our paddle-out.We have a winner! In fact, we have 12. From Best Plastic Campaign to Schools Champion, last night we hosted the Plastic Free Awards, celebrating those taking on the plastic challenge. But who won? Click to find out!Ocean School is back! Throughout 2021, we’re taking 40 groups of school children to the greatest classroom on Earth – the beach. Each session has been developed to create and deepen their connection with the ocean so that they can add their voice to the ocean & climate emergency 🌏. This scheme would mean over 90% of bottles and cans are collected, reused and recycled, protecting our ocean from needless plastic pollution. Clearly a no-brainer. Right, Boris?Tomorrow is International Surfing Day, so here’s a quote that, whether you’re a wave-rider or not, we hope will inspire you as we navigate tough yet inspiring times.
