John — You might’ve heard that this week we had a vote in the House of Representatives to honor the police officers who risked their lives to protect Congress from the January 6 insurrection.

You might’ve also heard that 21 Republicans voted “ NO ” against the resolution — turning their backs on the police officers who saved their lives.

But if that wasn’t bad enough, yesterday in the halls of Congress I saw something that truly made my jaw drop: Rep. Andrew Clyde, who voted against honoring the Capitol police, refused to shake hands with one of the police officers who protected Congress from insurrectionists.

John — This is an embarrassment and a disgrace. If you’re able, will you rush a donation so that we can keep the House of Representatives out of the hands of these GQP extremists? [[link removed]]

Officer Fanone just wanted to introduce himself to Rep. Clyde and shake his hand. But after voting against honoring our police, Rep. Clyde apparently didn’t want to be anywhere near a police officer.

He refused to shake Officer Fanone’s hand — just like he refuses to explain his absurd comments downplaying the January 6th insurrection as merely a “normal tourist visit” [!!]

It’s shameful. But here’s the real threat: If Republicans take control of the House of Representatives in 2022, Congresspeople like Rep. Andrew Clyde will be in the driver’s seat. They can decide to block President Biden at every turn, and then in 2024 they will have the power to refuse to certify the winner of the Presidential election.

We can’t let that happen. That’s why I’m asking you to pitch in $25 or whatever you can to help us protect our House Majority and defeat members who give comfort to insurrectionists. [[link removed]]

Eric
