Happy Pride Month!

This month gives us an opportunity to celebrate our LGBTQ+ friends, family and neighbors. It also gives us a chance to recognize the work of trailblazers who have come before us and the work still to be done to ensure equality for all.

Today, that starts with passing the Equality Act.

If passed, the Equality Act would amend the Civil Rights Act to prohibit discrimination on the basis of sex, sexual orientation, and gender identity in employment, housing, public accommodations, education, federally funded programs, credit, and jury service.

This piece of legislation is long overdue. It passed through this House with Susie’s support, but it’s being held up by Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans. It is time to take action to pass the Equality Act — for our friends, or family, and our country.
