Last year was challenging, friends.

 

And we are just now beginning to see the long-term impact of the pandemic on
our industries. The pandemic ravaged the world, our country, and our state in
innumerable ways.

 

As the pandemic comes to its close and the country reopens, we must turn our
attention torebuilding Illinois’ economy.

 

FACT: Consumer prices have risen 5% in the last year.

 

That’s the largest annual increase in inflation since the recession.

 

The federal government claims not to be concerned about this exponentially
rising inflation rate. It isup to us to keep Illinois’ economy serving its
people.

 

Last month, 44% of Illinois business owners reported they were unable to fill
job openings. In the same month, Governor Pritzker decidedNOT to opt out of the
extra federal unemployment assistance through Labor Day.

 

We need workers who are motivated to boost our economy and who will fill the
current void in job openings.
