We're so excited to have another fun and action-packed week. As the 2020 presidential race heats up, we're happy to have Tempe be a part of it. This week, we'll be having a town hall with a presidential candidate. Keep reading to find out more info!
This Friday we will be hosting a town hall with presidential candidate and Colorado senator Michael Bennet. Bennet was appointed as senator in 2009. He announced his candidacy in May 2019 and his campaign is focused on expanding economic opportunity and improving integrity in the government. Before being appointed as senator, he served as the superintendent of Denver Public Schools and the chief of staff for Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper. We are so excited to have him here and are looking forward to your questions for him.
This Thursday, Athena Salman and Juan Mendez announced their Millennial Clean Elections Team and their plans to run in 2020 for the Arizona Legislature in District 26. The two are running for re-election to the Senate and House.  The two will be at our meeting after the town hall to answer questions about their campaign.  
Our trainings director, Catherine Novotny, will be hosting a phone-banking training on October 16th at 6 pm. The location is TBA. We will be learning about how to make hard-asks, the most difficult part of phone-banks. We are looking forward to improving our phone-banking skills! 
Because of the town hall, our committee meetings are cancelled this week. An updated committee schedule will come next week.
