John,

It’s up to us. That’s our takeaway from the back-and-forth in Washington D.C. over the past 24 hours on the H.R. 1. Our democracy needs saving, but by immediately opposing even the watered-down Manchin compromise voting rights proposal, Mitch McConnell proved yet again that so long as he has power over the U.S. Senate, we will never be able to pass any meaningful legislation.

The only way to strip Mitch McConnell of his power over the American people is to expand our majority in the U.S. Senate so we have the votes to amend or eliminate his precious Jim Crow filibuster.

This is an uncomfortable truth, but we cannot deny it any longer. There is no bill, no compromise, and no negotiation in the U.S. Senate that will produce meaningful and progressive legislation in its current form. Our only path is to elect more Democrats in 2022 so we finally have the votes to relegate McConnell and his Trump-era cronies into the garbage bin of irrelevance.

And that’s exactly what Vote From Home is doing. We’re getting to work right now, countering Republican state-level voter suppression with year-round organizing. But we need your help, can you donate $10 right now?

We can’t allow ourselves to be governed by a far-right radical bought and paid by the special interests, also known as Mitch McConnell.

We can’t allow vital legislation to be held hostage by Senators like Joe Manchin. We need to make them irrelevant by electing more voting rights advocates. We can do that in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Ohio, North Carolina, Iowa, and Florida.

We are ready to get to work. We just need your help. Can you donate $10?

Thank you,

Vote From Home is a grassroots movement that's fighting to expand vote-by-mail. We helped thousands of Democrats vote safely from home in Pennsylvania, Michigan, North Carolina and Georgia in 2020 and 2021. Now we're focused on stopping politicians and legislation who are making it harder for Americans to vote by mail. Please forward this email if you know someone who may be interested. Our average gift is just under $39 so consider donating that today to support voting rights: [link removed]
