[1]Women's March
Hey John — I’m Rachel, the
Executive Director at Women's March.
We always knew that defeating Trump was just the beginning of our work
here at Women’s March to bring forth the feminist future we envision.
Together, millions of Women’s Marchers came together to kick Trump out of
the White House and we WON — but the wave of attacks on reproductive
rights we’re experiencing right now has made it clear that there’s a lot
of work to be done to stop the Republican Party’s anti-women agenda.
That’s why today I’m writing a longer email than usual about why we need
to take these attacks seriously, organize together to defend our
reproductive freedom, and make sure we’re prepared to fight during the
2022 Election Cycle. [ [link removed] ]When you’re done reading, I hope you can chip
in $3 or anything you can to our Reproductive Justice Fund.
Every dollar counts in a critical moment like this.
THE ATTACKS HAPPENING RIGHT NOW:
Last month, the Supreme Court announced that they agreed to take up an
abortion case concerning a controversial Mississippi law that banned most
abortions after 15 weeks.
This court case poses a real, direct challenge to Roe v. Wade and the
reproductive rights we’ve fought hard to protect — especially since Trump
succeeded in stacking the Supreme Court with anti-abortion,
ultra-conservative justices.
Ever since, dozens of states across the country like Texas and Missouri
have been passing dangerous legislation preparing to outlaw abortion.
Here’s a map of all the places where abortion access would decline if the
Supreme Court succeeds in overturning Roe v. Wade:

WHY THIS MATTERS:
This is the most serious attempt we’ve seen in decades to dismantle Roe v.
Wade.
It’s no coincidence that all of these attacks are raining down at the same
time: State legislatures know that this is their chance to take their
anti-women agenda to the next level now that there’s an ultra-conservative
majority on the Supreme Court. It’s a harsh reminder that Trump may be
gone — but his misogynistic and racist agenda is still alive and being
carried out by his supporters.
The Republican party and ultra-conservative groups are organizing in a big
way to to pass dangerous anti-abortion legislation across the country.
They’re receiving massive donations from wealthy donors and corporate PACs
to bring their anti-women agenda to the next level.
Here’s an example of a Texas group trying to outlaw abortion in as many
cities as possible, claiming they are creating "sanctuary cities for the
unborn."

If we don’t fight back in full force, our reproductive rights are at risk
of being erased within the next year.
HOW WE'RE FIGHTING BACK:
We know that Women’s Marchers are powerful when we organize, march, and
mobilize together to protect our rights and ensure the future we deserve.
That’s why we’ve been hard at work to mobilize our volunteer and
organizing teams against this slate of attacks on our reproductive
freedom.
We need a massive show of resistance from across the country to make sure
the Supreme Court protects Roe v. Wade and that the Biden-Harris
Administration protects the right to an abortion under law. We also know
that early preparation is key if we want to kick out every Republican in
office who threatens our rights.
HOW YOU CAN HELP:
It’s going to take significant resources and funding to build a nationwide
campaign that can do all of this and make sure we can respond to every
attack the GOP throws at us.
That’s why we launched our people-powered Reproductive Justice Fund last
month so we can start fighting back, now.
All of Women's March's organizing work is funded by grassroots donations —
people like you reading emails like this one and donating $50, $15, or
even just $3 at a time.
[ [link removed] ]We need all hands on deck: Will you make a donation toward our
Reproductive Justice Fund so we can organize and fight back against these
attacks against reproductive freedom on the local AND national levels?

We must keep pushing forward.
