John,
Since the Supreme Court’s landmark decision Roe v. Wade made abortion access legal in 1973, Republicans have been working diligently to overturn it. And they’re getting close.
But, there’s hope.
Congress recently reintroduced the Women’s Health Protection Act. The act would protect the right to abortion across every state, and put a stop to medically unnecessary restrictions like mandatory waiting periods, biased counseling, and the recent slew of 6-week abortion bans -- laws that ban abortions before many folks even know they’re pregnant.

This is a critical piece of legislation. Roe was never enough -- it’s not sufficient for abortions to simply be legal, the procedure also needs to be accessible to every person in every state who is seeking reproductive health care.
Legal abortions are one of the safest medical procedures, and 85% of voters believe that reproductive healthcare, including abortion care, should be accessible to everyone. But that isn’t stopping Republicans from coordinating efforts across the country to do away with reproductive health access -- from Texas’ new 6-week abortion ban to Oklahoma’s bill that would revoke medical licenses from doctors who provide abortions.
Republicans have been attacking access to reproductive health care for decades -- let’s tell our Democratic majority in Congress to put a stop to it with the Women’s Health Protection Act TODAY!
