WE CAN'T FULLY REOPEN JUST YET BUT.......

what's changing

We're obviously disappointed that we won't be able to start operating as normal from next week, following the Government's decision yesterday to delay the lifting of all restrictions.

BUT IT'S NOT ALL BAD NEWS! 🙌

We will shortly be introducing extended opening hours at more of our centres, and also additional sessions where we feel we can safely do so, so keep a look-out on our social media channels or check our app for up-to-date news.

We’re also busy working on a new group fitness programme, which will be ready to launch once restrictions are lifted! 🙌

In the meantime, please remember to continue to wear your mask, sanitise your hands and keep a safe distance from others in all our buildings.

A REMINDER TO PLAY FAIR!

Play Fair Policy image

LET'S ALL PLAY FAIR!

Since we introduced our Play Fair Policy* in May, late cancellations and no-shows have reduced, meaning over 1000 more spaces were available on average, for customers to book across swim, gym and group fitness  - THANK YOU....LET'S KEEP GOING!

You may recall that we offered a period of grace so you could familiarise yourself with the new policy and we've taken the decision to continue that grace period for a little while longer.

This means that you'll still receive our automatic email reminding you of the Play Fair Policy if you fail to cancel up to 3 hours before or didn't show at all for your pre-booked session, but we'll be holding off charging you for now.

As a reminder, when we do implement the charge, your Flexible Fitness membership or Active Nottingham discounted entry will be revoked and you'll be charged full price on any future bookings until you settle your account, so use the next few weeks to get used to planning and cancelling in plenty of time.

NOTTINGHAM SWIM SCHOOL NEWS!

Pre-School sessions are changing!

NSS1

From the 21st June 2021 we are making some improvements to the way we deliver our Pre-school swimming lessons.

From this date all NEW customers joining a pre-school class will need a parent/carer/adult aged 16+ to accompany them in the water for the duration of the class and for the whole time they remain in the Pre-school stage.

Benefits of you being in the water

NSS2
  • 1-2-1 support means faster progression.
  • Helps ease any anxiety/nerves
  • Parents/carer can copy the instructor and show their child the movements in the water
  • Parents/carer can help their child stay focused and following instructions.
  • It’s a great activity to do together!

What about existing swimmers?

NSS3

We are actively encouraging all our existing Swim School parents to join their child in the water too.

You don't even need to be able to swim yourself or have any knowledge about teaching swimming. All of our pre-school classes take place in shallow water or within our teaching pools and you'll just be following the instructors' lead.

DROWNING PREVENTION WEEK - 19-26 JUNE

DPW 2

Did you know that rookie lifeguarding is part of our Learn2Swim programme?

When our Nottingham Swim School swimmers reach black hat stage (8-10) and have mastered the core range of skills required, they can choose to take part in different water based activities which include learning how to save lives!

This life skill could prove invaluable as they reach the age where they're off meeting friends, especially during the summer.

Our swimming lessons start at 6 months and you're never to old to learn!

GET THE JAB!

Get the jab

We’re supporting the city’s fresh call for all eligible adults in Nottingham to get vaccinated against COVID-19.

We want everyone to have the protection offered by the vaccine to reduce the spread of the virus – and help the city’s continued unlocking of current restrictions.

The more people who take up the offer of a vaccine, the more likely we’ll be able to remain open.

We don’t want to return to lockdown.

Currently, everyone aged 21 and over can get the vaccine Book Now! or call 119.

From tomorrow everyone over 18 years will be able to book their first jab too!
