Hi John,
Thank you for supporting my campaign for Congress in Washington’s 6th District last year!
Together we brought attention to the people who are struggling: the senior living on $1,200 a month, the people living on the street while real estate developers rake in record profits, the patients who need insulin and can’t get it because of corporate greed.
I’m honored to have received 35,631 votes in the last election, and proud that we made almost a million calls to voters and raised $313K without taking any corporate money. 2020 was just the beginning. With even more donors and volunteers like you, I know we can win in 2022.
That's why I'm excited to announce I'm running again.
I need to raise $48K by July 1, so I can get a new website built, make a launch video, and hire essential team members. Please rush a $7 donation now to help me get there.
In a country this rich, there shouldn’t be a single person who’s hungry, homeless, without healthcare, or in poverty.
Yet decade after decade these injustices persist. Why? Because of Republicans and the Democrats who enable them. Democrats like Joe Manchin and my opponent Derek Kilmer, who keep making nice with Republicans as our rights get trampled.
Can you give $7 now, so I can raise $48K by my July 1 deadline and make actual progress in Congress?
Seniors are scraping together pennies to afford their prescriptions, young families are doubling up with relatives because they can’t afford rent, retirees are working in Amazon warehouses, and teachers are driving for Uber as a second job.
This is especially unjust given that these problems are completely solvable.
For example, it would cost $10 billion a year to end homelessness in the U.S.
$25 billion to end world hunger.
$175 billion per year for 20 years to end world poverty.
In other words: 28.7% of our annual bloated military budget would solve all three of these problems.
If we combine direct action and organizing with a transformation of the Democratic Party, we can finally end these injustices.
It’s 2021 and migrant children are still in cages, 1 in 6 kids are still going hungry, 68,000 Americans die every year because they can’t afford healthcare, nearly half the country is poor or low-income, 550,000 people are homeless, and 10 million renters face looming eviction.
I’m tired of waiting for millionaire politicians to help us.
That’s why I’ve been taking direct action.
I want to help end homelessness, and since last August, I’ve been on the ground doing community organizing, including occupying empty buildings to get more housing for homeless people in Tacoma.
A group of us helped get 200 more shelter beds in Tacoma, get hygiene stations at a homeless camp, get a temporary shelter extended by two months, and postpone a camping ban (which would have criminalized homelessness). I’m in the community dealing with the problems head-on. And I can do even more in Congress.
But I don’t have personal money to put into my campaign.
That’s why I need your help. If you can, please help me raise $48K by July 1 for a new website, launch video, and campaign staff by giving $7 now:

I’m confident that with your help, we can win this time.
Thank you,
