John:
Say it with me: the Affordable Care Act is the law of the land.
This morning, the Supreme Court once again ruled against a Repulican attempt to dismantle the Affordable Care Act and rip healthcare away from millions of Americans.
If the Republican coalition in California v. Texas had succeeded, 130 million Americans with preexisting conditions, 12 million Americans who gained coverage under Medicaid expansion, and every last one of us that relies on patient protections, cost-free birth control, and so much more under the ACA could have lost essential healthcare.
The Republican Party knows this, but still fought multiple court cases and tried to repeal the ACA countless times in Congress.
Can you chip in $10 today to send a message to the Republican Party?: The Affordable Care Act is here to stay!
Former California Attorney General (and now Secretary of Health and Human Services) Xavier Becerra said it best when he headed to court to defend the law last November “At stake aren’t just policy details, or differences of opinion, or numbers on a sheet of paper. At stake are people...The ACA Matters because people matter.”
That’s the difference people-powered leadership makes.
Now it’s time to turn the page on the Republicans’ latest ACA repeal scheme and focus on expanding access to healthcare.
Onward!
California Democratic Party
