Dear AFSCME Family,
Huge news: According to a recent poll of AFSCME members, 75% of us have received at least one dose of a coronavirus vaccine. That’s well above the national average, proving that AFSCME members are continuing to lead the way out of the pandemic.
Let’s set an even bigger goal: 80% of all AFSCME members vaccinated by July 4. That’s a big goal to hit, but I know if we work together we can get there.
Visit our COVID-19 vaccine information page to learn everything you know about getting the vaccine.
It is vitally important that we get vaccinated. Yes, it protects us and our loved ones. Yes, it protects the people we interact with and the communities we serve. But it’s more than that.
AFSCME members and retirees are leaders in our communities. When the pandemic hit, we rushed to the front lines to keep our communities safe, often putting ourselves at risk in service to others. That’s why people look to us. It’s a big responsibility, but we are up to the challenge — the numbers prove it.
If you’re not one of the 75%, if you are still hesitant or have questions, we understand. A lot of people have had questions about the vaccines as they’ve been rolled out. But millions and millions of Americans have now received doses, and they have proven safe and effective. The numbers of COVID-19 cases continue to dwindle because of the vaccines. If you have any questions, please review our vaccine resource page.
And if you have gotten vaccinated, say it loud and say it proud!

Thank you for your service and for your leadership.
In solidarity,
