Friend,
"Americans for Prosperity" sounds nice, doesn't it?
Don't be misled. Americans for Prosperity is one of the biggest dark money groups buying influence in Washington. Recently, they launched targeted ads and an entire website to pressure the Senate to oppose the For the People Act, the common-sense, democracy-saving bill Dean's been championing in Washington.
And their dark money paid off. In recent weeks, a number of senators have announced their opposition to the bill. The irony of dark money working to stop a bill to limit the impact of dark money isn't lost on any of us fighting to save our democracy.
This is exactly the kind of undemocratic influence-buying that Dean went to Congress to fight -- and he won't stop calling out the influence of dark money as long as he's there. Taking down the For the People act isn't enough for these groups: They want to take down the leaders who championed it, too.
So we need every last patriot, every person who cares about the future of our democracy, to chip in as we approach our official FEC end-of-quarter deadline. Will you make a contribution today?

If we have any hope of saving our democracy, we need representatives who will continue to champion the For the People Act. Whatever happens in the Senate, Dean is not giving up on it. It's the first piece of legislation Dean voted on when he got to Congress, and it's his mission to see it through.
As our crucial end-of-quarter deadline approaches, let's recommit to our mission of building a massive community of supporters around Dean. Dark money groups like Americans for Prosperity will be looking at the number of individual donors who support this campaign, as well as how much money we're raising. If they spot any weakness, they're going to go all-in to try and flip this seat.
It's no secret that Dean holds a high-stakes seat for 2022. That's why we're calling on 3,000 supporters to make a donation before our end-of-quarter deadline. Will you become one of them right now?
Thanks,
The DeanTeam
