Hi John,
The U.S. Supreme Court has just issued its opinion in the Fulton v Philadelphia case, the effects of which could profoundly affect protections for LGBTQ+ people, people of color, people of faith and no religion, and more. We are part of a coalition that is working to digest the opinion and we’ll be sharing that analysis with you at two virtual events tonight.
Join us tonight at our Rally, followed by our Town Hall -- register for these events here[[link removed]]. The Rally is at 7pm ET where we’ll gather together as a community, hear from amazing speakers and watch outstanding performers. The Town Hall will feature experts providing analysis of the opinion, how it will affect our lives, and what needs to be done. You can get more information here.[[link removed]]

Fulton, on its surface, is about whether a private foster care agency that receives public funds can use their religious beliefs to justify not serving LGBTQ+ people. Their refusal has already had a devastating impact on foster kids who are being denied a loving home. But if the court rules in favor of a right to discriminate, it could allow any private agency that receives taxpayer-funding to provide government services -- such as adoption, food banks, homeless shelters, disaster relief and more -- to deny services to anyone they don’t approve of, including LGBTQ+, Jewish, Muslim, Mormon, nonreligious, single women, those previously divorced and more.
We hope you can join us tonight as a community [[link removed]]at 7pm ET for our Rally followed by a Town Hall[[link removed]] to learn more about the decision and its potential effects[[link removed]].
See you tonight!
