In less than two weeks, we have a huge milestone for the campaign. It’ll be the second official quarterly fundraising deadline of the election cycle.
That means we’ll submit a public report to the FEC about how much we’ve raised in the last three months. This report gets scrutinized heavily, and many special interests will be hoping to see our movement lose momentum. So it’s important for us to be able to post strong the strongest numbers possible.
Alexandria is one of the most heavily targeted Democrats in Congress. Right-wing outlets like Fox News spend countless hours trying to stoke outrage about her policy agenda. And last cycle, Republicans spent more than $10 million trying to kick her out of Congress.
There’s a lot coming up – from big legislative pushes around infrastructure to voting rights. That’s why we’re writing today asking for your support before the FEC report is due.
Alexandria doesn’t raise money the old-school way at fancy parties with wealthy donors or from corporate PACs that write checks in exchange for legislative tradeoffs. She relies 100% on grassroots fundraising to keep up her fight in Congress. Our average donation is just about $17.
More than 1-in-3 of our campaign dollars come from generous supporters giving over emails like this one. It’s a critical funding source for us. That’s why we’re writing today ahead of this big end-of-quarter FEC deadline.
