Friend --

At our most recent Housing and Transit Action Team meeting held on June 3rd, 2021 we agreed to stand in support of Walltown and signed on to their letter.

We now need you to help us by calling and emailing the Mayor and City Council to continue Longtime Homeowner Grants for Southside, Southwest Central Durham, and Northeast Central Durham, & ADD Walltown, Braggtown, Merrick Moore, and other legacy African-American neighborhoods with rapidly rising property taxes due to gentrification.

NOW, EMAIL CITY COUNCIL AT:

[email protected]

AND CALL City Council members:

919-560-4396

(You’ll hear the names and extensions for all 6 Council members.)

BEFORE they vote on the budget Monday, 6/21/21, 7:00pm, try to speak to at least one City Council member to ask them to support Longtime Homeowner Grants.

THEN CALL Mayor Steve Schewel’s office:

919-560-4333

(Leave a message.)
