Dear Friend of CDT,

I am delighted to share with you the CDT Annual Report for 2020 ([link removed]). Its title, Bridging the Divide, underscores our mission of tackling the tensions between democracy and technology, working to center civil rights and civil liberties in the digital age.

The crises of last year will shape all of us long into the future — from the devastating impact of COVID-19 and the political instability following the presidential election, to a long overdue reckoning over racial injustice. I’m proud of CDT’s work towards finding meaningful solutions to these challenges by bringing together policymakers, civil society advocates, technologists, company decision-makers, and affected communities. 

I’m extremely grateful to our Board, staff, Advisory Council, Fellows, donors, and partners who make all of our work possible. Together, we can bridge the divide — we look forward to the work ahead.
