New Broad Marsh Car Park set to be an electric record-breaker
BMCP charge points________________________________________________________________________
We have exciting news to share with you this Clean Air Day ? the new Broad Marsh Car Park will be home to the largest number of electric vehicle charge points in one location, in the whole of the UK!
There?s a host of other sustainability measures at the car park and bus station too, including a sensor-controlled vehicle management system that will reduce congestion and air pollution, and solar panels on the roof providing renewable energy.
We?re proud to be doing our bit to make it easier to travel in an environmentally-friendly way, helping to reduce air pollution and lower carbon emissions.

We're encouraging active travel this Clean Air Day
Let's do our bit for cleaner air
Every year, Clean Air Day aims to increase understanding of air pollution and the importance of reducing it. This year, the focus is to protect children's health.
Nottingham City Council has taken a number of measures in the last few years to improve air quality, particularly outside schools, including:
* Introducing anti-idling legislation to combat engines left running and harmful exhaust emissions
* Trialled and made permanent 14 car-free school streets across the city, creating a safer and cleaner space outside school gates
* Encouraged people to walk, cycle or scoot to school
In the last 12 months, we've also:
* Launched the Electric Van Experience, offering businesses the chance to try an electric van
* Welcomed the first fully electric hackney taxi to our streets
* Begun operating the world's first two electric bin lorries
All this complements our ongoing work supporting an award-winning environmentally-friendly public transport network, and developing and improving routes and facilities to encourage cycling in the city.

*What you can do*
Small changes can add up to a big difference. There are lots of things you can do to reduce your contribution to air pollution, such as giving?diesel or petrol cars a day off, using cleaner public transport, and walking and cycling for shorter journeys, such as the school run.
