Most Americans believe every vote should be equal, the candidate with the most votes should win, and that candidates should have to solicit votes everywhere in the country – not just in a handful of battleground states. 

The National Popular Vote bill is the only realistic path to a popular vote. Opponents of one-person-one-vote know we are making progress so they keep turning out myths.

1) Big cities will control a popular vote

2) The US Constitution prohibits a popular vote

Actually, article 2, section 1 of the Constitution gives states the power to decide how the President is elected. Learn more here.

3) The small states benefit from the current system

Actually, small states are particularly disadvantaged in the current system which is why four of the smallest states have already passed our bill. Full answer here.
