Dear MoveOn member,
This week, we launched our biggest campaign of the Biden administration:
Bold Recovery Now, calling on Congress to end the political games and move
past GOP obstruction to quickly pass President Biden's American Jobs Plan
and American Families Plan.
We know that while we're making progress towards recovery, thanks to the
American Rescue Plan—which Democrats passed through Congress despite GOP
obstruction—too many families and communities are still feeling the
impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. And more so, we can't just go back to
the way things were before the pandemic: We need to build back bold, with
a recovery package that reimagines our economy by rewarding work instead
of wealth, investing in green infrastructure and the care economy, and
making sure the rich and corporations pay more of their fair share.
And we also know that the GOP will stop at nothing to delay, obstruct, and
water down these proposals, both to protect their wealthy donors and to
ensure that Democrats aren't able to deliver for the people. Already,
Republican senators have wasted weeks of time by offering up laughable,
inadequate "counter-offers" to President Biden's proposals.^1
The clock is ticking: With the Senate set to go home soon for its Fourth
of July recess, followed by another monthlong recess in early August, we
have only a few weeks left to make sure Congress passes these
game-changing bills.

playing political games and pass the AJP and AFP immediately, so that we
can deliver real, much-needed relief to struggling Americans.
Here's why we're going all-in on this campaign—and why it's so important
for you to get involved:
Imagine a country that created and funded millions of green infrastructure
jobs, where every community had access to clean and safe drinking water,
where millions of Americans living in rural parts of the country had
access to fast, reliable broadband internet.
Imagine a country that provided universal free community college
education, where working families were given monthly tax credits to
support raising their children, where we had a policy of universal
preschool so that families could save tens of thousands of dollars a year
in child care expenses.
Imagine a society where workers had the legal right to take paid family
and medical leave without the risk of getting fired, where workers had the
free and fair choice to decide whether to unionize, where essential care
workers were finally treated with dignity and paid the wages they
deserved.
And imagine that we finally made sure the billionaires and ultra-rich
corporations—the same billionaires and corporations who've increased their
wealth and worth by trillions of dollars since the pandemic started—paid
more of their fair share in taxes.
President Biden's American Jobs Plan (AJP) and American Families Plan
(AFP) will make all of this, and so much more, a reality. We can get this
through Congress, but only if we're ready to mobilize and pressure our
elected officials over the next few months.^2,3
Here's some of what we've worked on so far:
* Last week, nearly 200 MoveOn members joined our Build Back Bold
Mobilizers kickoff call, where we heard from Representative Jamie
Raskin about the importance of swiftly passing the AJP and AFP, and
committed to taking action to pressure our senators.^4
* Yesterday, thanks to MoveOn members who chipped in to make it happen,
we placed a full-page ad in Politico (a publication read widely on
Capitol Hill), calling on Congress to move past GOP obstruction and
pass the AJP and AFP.^5
* We kicked off a social media campaign targeting key senators, with
lots more content to come.^6
[ [link removed] ]Can you join our demand for a Bold Recovery Now by signing this
petition to your representatives in Congress?
In the coming weeks, we'll be ramping up our efforts to keep up the
pressure on Congress, because our communities can't wait any longer for a
bold recovery.
Thanks for all you do.
