Friend,

President Richard Nixon declared a “war on drugs” 50 years ago, proclaiming “drug abuse” as "public enemy number one" in the United States.

Today, it's never been clearer that the real enemy is the drug war itself, and the countless harms that it has caused. But with your support, we’re fighting to end the drug war and decriminalizing all drugs is the most important step we must take to do it.

We just released a brand new video and resource exchange about why decriminalizing drugs is the way forward. Check out the details below to learn more and spread the word.

Our new Decriminalization Exchange has all the resources you need to learn more about drug decriminalization and how you can get involved. Visit our first-of-its-kind interactive map to see how drugs are criminalized where you live and across the country: [link removed] You can explore laws, arrest and overdose rates, the status of decriminalization legislation, actions you can take to support decriminalization, and so much more.

We’re determined to decriminalize drugs in every state and nationwide. We’ve already built so much momentum. Just yesterday, we let you know about anunprecedented new bill to decriminalize drugs at the federal level that will be introduced soon in Congress: [link removed]

There’s a lot of opportunity ahead, but we’ve also got a lot of work to do. Please keep standing with us in the fight to decriminalize drugs and build a world after the drug war.

Sincerely,

Kassandra Frederique
