John,
I would never pretend to have a "green thumb." But I have to say that in Portland, known as the "Rose City," it's nice to have at least one rose bush in your garden. We planted this one a few years ago when we put in our fence. It's been so wonderful to watch our rose bush grow and flourish!
Finding time to do things for yourself and to tend to your mental health is just so important, especially for those with fast-paced (and sometimes stressful!) jobs. So take a break to "smell the flowers." And, if you are lucky enough to grow your own flowers, grab the prettiest vase you have, cut a few, and place them on your kitchen table to enjoy for weeks!
Despite the stresses and strains of my job (it's a pretty big deal to be the chief law officer of the state, after all), I love serving as the People's Attorney.
Admittedly, there are some parts that I don't particularly enjoy. One of those not-so-great parts of the job in elected office is asking for money. At the same time, I know how critical it is to continue the work I'm doing toward achieving a more progressive, more equitable Oregon.
That's why I'm reaching out to you today to ask if you can help us hit our mid-month goal by tomorrow's deadline. Will you donate any amount right now to the Ellen for AG Committee to help me keep moving Oregon forward?
