Children and families in Madagascar are facing a severe humanitarian crisis.
JOhn,
In 1976, thousands of black school children in Soweto, South Africa, marched in peaceful protest against repressive educational laws. They were met with heavy violence. Hundreds were killed, and hundreds more killed or wounded in subsequent protests.
Within schools we serve, attendance and enrollment rates have risen dramatically. Teachers and students have established gardens. Children receive hand washing and hygiene training while parents help construct and refurbish sanitation systems.
