We are reaching out today because as a new or returning donor your gift to CURE Epilepsy today is eligible to help unlock a $250,000 grant for critical epilepsy research. As new donors to CURE Epilepsy last year, we also qualified, and multiplying our impact in support of research--the only route to a cure--is so important to us.
We’ve followed CURE Epilepsy ever since our daughter Hadley experienced her first seizure at five months. We gave because after trying so many medications and even a life-altering brain surgery, we realized that investing in research is the only hope for Hadley and so many others.
As we sat in the neurologist’s office post-diagnosis talking about treatment options for Hadley, he handed us a list of medications. There was a percentage next to each one indicating how likely it was to work, and none were above 60%. A 60% chance of working isn’t good enough for Hadley, and it isn’t good enough for the millions of other families worldwide desperately seeking answers.
Just last week, we learned that Hadley was accepted into a clinical trial at Cleveland Clinic--and we are hopeful that this will be the miracle drug we have been waiting for. Your gift to CURE Epilepsy funds the pre-clinical research that is crucial to making clinical trials, like this one, possible.
