I could spend hours dwelling on why the opposition to the For the People Act is wrong. I've been pushing for this bill from the day I arrived in Congress. But instead of dwelling on the past, let's focus on what we can do about it.

Our democracy is too important to not keep up the fight. So I'm building a grassroots campaign that proves we can run our elections in a better way -- without a blind reliance on dark money and special interests.

The For the People Act is a bill that upholds small-"d" democractic values through common-sense reforms -- the kind that are hard to pass precisely because of the dark money forces in our politics clinging to power.

It would make it easier for people to vote, end partisan gerrymandering, and change the way campaigns are financed so that regular people -- not dark money groups -- have a bigger say in how our country is run.

Those dark money groups know my name. They're going to be looking closely at our official FEC fundraising report at the end of the month, and if the numbers on that report show signs of weakness, they're going to go all-in to try to flip this seat and kill democracy reform for good.
