Friends — this isn’t the news we wanted to share, but we fell short of our mid-month fundraising goal yesterday.

We want to be upfront, this doesn’t happen often. But our goal was to get 10,000 donations and we still need 2,616 more to close the gap to make up for lost ground.

So we’re emailing you for $5 to help close the gap.

You see, this campaign is fueled by small dollar donations from every day folks — not corporate PACs.

That’s why when we set goals like this, they’re real. Which means we can’t afford to come up even a dollar short.

So in order to hit our public FEC fundraising goal at the end of the month, we need to get the remaining 2,616 donations to stay on track.

Every dollar we raise now will put us in the best possible position to put up a big number at the end of the month. So we have to ask:
