Republicans are doing anything they can to undermine Stacey Abrams this cycle. A speaker at the recent GOP convention even warned his party that “Voters of color are being led by that Wicked Witch from the South, Stacey Abrams.”
We know why the GOP is so scared, John. According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Abrams is favored to win in a gubernatorial race matchup against GA governor Brian Kemp -- with a 48% favorability rating to Kemp's 44%.
Abrams is exactly the kind of leader we need in a battleground state like Georgia, but as a powerful Black woman with a nationwide network of allies, she's also the GOP's primary target.
Brian Kemp already signed the biggest voter suppression law in recent history to help himself defeat Abrams, and now Trump is propping up Jody Hice's campaign for secretary of state. If Hice wins his campaign, that will put a Big Lie Republican in control of Georgia's elections starting in 2022.
