Indivisible SF
We voted for Democrats because our nation was founded on the principle that no one is above the law—not even the president. We don't want America to be a land where the wealthy are allowed to loot, cheat, and exploit with impunity while the politically powerful are granted immunity from the consequences.

Yet a flood of recent news articles reveal in dismaying detail that the Department of Justice (DOJ) under Attorney General Garland has continued Trump-regime policies of concealment, cover-ups, protecting the powerful, enabling discrimination, and prosecuting the whistle-blowers rather than the criminals. As members of Indivisible—as Americans—it's time for us to stand up and demand that that President Biden, Attorney General Garland, and members of Congress vigorously and thoroughly investigate Trump and his regime, hold them accountable for their abuses, and transform the DOJ into a department that serves We the People rather than the powerful few.

Contact President Biden, Attorney General Garland, and your members of Congress to insist that the administration stop ignoring the crimes and abuses of the Trump regime, as they promised us they would during the 2020 campaign.

ISF Spotlight

With Congress spending the summer working on the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which governs defense spending, we wrote a detailed open legislative letter last week asking Congress to treat the climate catastrophe as a national security threat that must be incorporated into both spending and policy. The letter, which we sent by USPS, fax, and email to members and staff of the House and Senate Armed Services Committees, was also signed by 49 other organizations, including Indivisibles and other progressive groups across the country. Read the full letter and highlights here.

Indivisible groups nationwide will be conducting a multi-faceted “Deadline for Democracy” initiative this month. And we are proud to take part! We are facing a make-or-break moment for S.1, the For The People Act. This summer marks a real Deadline for Democracy. We need to mobilize like never before to show our senators that there is overwhelming grassroots support for democracy reform, and that we demand that they get it done now without letting the filibuster get in the way.

Join ISF, IEB and many other grassroots organizations at Oscar Grant Plaza in Oakland on July 7 at 6 PM for a rally to defend democracy and raise awareness of the need to protect voting rights for all Americans.
All are welcome to join our events!

ISF State and Local Working Group meeting: Friday, June 18, 7:30–8:30 PM. Register here for a Zoom meeting to help us plan to propose legislation to our state legislators and support progressive initiatives on the state and local level.

ISF Federal Working Group meeting: Thursday, June 24, 7:30–9 PM. Register here for a Zoom meeting to help us develop strategies to influence our Members of Congress and the Biden administration to enact a progressive agenda.

This will be a recurring virtual phone bank hosted each Sunday between 1 PM - 3 PM PT. Sign up here.
