After being restricted to outdoor spaces for well over a year during the pandemic, I can't even begin to tell you how blessed I've felt to call Long Island -- with all of its parks and beaches -- home.
I have always loved being in nature. I remember playing in the woods with kids from the neighborhood as a little girl across the street from my parent's house in Stony Brook. My mom made sure I knew that these beautiful spaces couldn't be taken for granted -- she fought for their preservation and regularly picked up litter in the neighborhood.
I’ve been proud to follow in my mother's footsteps and make preserving and protecting our local environment a top priority of mine in the County Legislature. I want to ensure our families and future generations have the same opportunity to make the memories that I made growing up.
