When I met Makayla she’d already been through so much. She came into our U.S. Survivor Care, began processing, and went on to graduate high school. Just before the pandemic began, Makayla welcomed a baby girl into the world. We all know life didn’t get easier a year ago, and your donations ensured grocery gift cards kept coming when needed for Makayla.

At just the right time, Love146’s Employment and Education program opened up, and Makayla was one of the first youth to be helped by it. We helped her build a resume, and journeyed with her as she began a Personal Care Aide program. Now, a year later, she’s about to graduate. Things still aren’t easy but Love146 remains by her side; just recently she was facing homelessness – and your support helped her navigate into safe housing with her daughter.

I want you to know: Your generosity prevents child trafficking and ensures survivors have support through recovery, higher education, employment, and onward. It matters for each child that I get the privilege of helping.
