Congresswoman Val Demings just announced she’s running for Senate in Florida!
If you've already contributed to her campaign, thank you! And if you don't know Val Demings, let me tell you why she's the candidate to flip Florida's Senate seat blue (and why I need you to make a donation to help her campaign get off to the strongest possible start today). [[link removed]]
To start, Democrats have a razor-thin majority in the Senate. If we lose even one seat next year, Mitch McConnell retakes control. There’s no room for error—we have to play offense.
And CNN is calling Florida’s Senate seat one of the most likely to flip in 2022. With Val Demings in the race, we can win this thing and expand our Senate majority.
Please—join me in being among the first to support Val Demings’ Senate race. I promised her my team could raise $25,000 by MIDNIGHT to jump-start her campaign. [[link removed]]

I’ve supported Val Demings since her first run for Congress, and I can tell you—she is the real deal.
Born and raised in Florida, she’s the daughter of a janitor and a maid and grew up poor. She’s been a tireless public servant, serving Orlando as a police officer for 27 years and becoming the Orlando Police Department’s first-ever Black woman police chief.
She’s fought GOP extremism for the last four years in the House, serving as an impeachment manager for Donald Trump’s first impeachment trial. I cannot think of a better leader for Florida, and I cannot wait to serve alongside her in the Senate.
But Val Demings is up against some serious headwinds. Florida is now the de facto headquarters for the Republican party, with Donald Trump holding court and spreading conspiracy theories from Mar-a-Lago. He’s not going to let Florida turn blue without a fight.
And let’s not forget Ron DeSantis. Florida’s governor just signed one of the most extreme voter suppression bills in the country into law, putting restrictions on mail-in voting that disproportionately impact Democratic voters.
Val Demings’ campaign needs to work twice as hard to mobilize voters and invest in the kind of organizing and deep canvassing that turned Georgia blue this year. But that takes serious resources.
Rush a donation of $18 or more to defeat extremist Republicans and elect Val Demings to the Senate in Florida. [[link removed]]

Val Demings and I are counting on you, John, and everyone reading this email, to make a contribution right now. Thank you for stepping up!

P.S. The midterms are a make-or-break moment for us. If we lose the Senate, Mitch McConnell and Republicans will block President Biden’s bold agenda—from fueling our economic recovery to investing in infrastructure and American families. Everything is on the line. Thank you for giving as much as you’re able. [[link removed]]
