Yesterday,
the Department of Treasury announced community development financial institutions
(CDFIs) awards from its Rapid Response Program (RRP) and 244 credit unions received $401.8 million in grants.

Regulatory Committee met Tuesday and discussed a number of proposed rulemakings
currently open for comment from the NCUA and the Federal Reserve. NAFCU staff
also provided an overview of recent developments on the association’s advocacy
efforts related to President Joe Biden’s proposed budget for fiscal year 2022.

CFPB report analyzes lending patterns
The CFPB Monday issued a report
analyzing lending patterns present for lenders below and above the 100-loan closed-end
threshold set by the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) rule. Of note, the report
confirms that smaller lenders generally lend more in rural areas.

sales see decline in May; NAFCU expects retail sales to remain strong through 2021
Total retail sales declined 1.3 percent in May following April's modest,
upwardly revised rise. The March number was further upwardly revised to a 11.3 percent rise.
