You probably didn’t need a reminder that Democratic majorities in both the House and Senate are dangerously thin.

But Mitch McConnell gave us one yesterday — openly bragging about what he’ll do if he’s Senate majority leader again after the midterms. (You don’t need a crystal ball to know he’d block every single one of President Biden’s priorities and judicial nominees.)

This is a wake-up call: The party that enabled (and, in some cases, even orchestrated) an insurrection is already banking on a return to power in a matter of months. That’s why I’m so committed to making sure the Sedition Caucus in Congress gets defeated next fall.

Our first big FEC deadline of this election is just days away — and how much we can raise will determine how many races we can take on in the months ahead. Will you chip in before the deadline and help take our fight directly to the people who’ve betrayed their oath of office? [[link removed]]
Supporters like you have sent in dozens of suggestions on where we should focus our efforts. My team is currently diving through that list and running the numbers on where we’re most needed. (More on that soon, I promise!)

Our first priority is Wisconsin, where Sen. Ron Johnson — a frequent defender of those that carried out the attack and someone who has repeatedly embraced the “Big Lie” — is up for re-election. Not only does he deserve to lose that seat, but it’s very winnable. Joe Biden won there in 2020, and Democrats have made major inroads across the state since Trump won it by 0.77%.

The truth is that flipping Ron Johnson’s seat is essential to keeping Mitch McConnell’s hands off the gavel.

I believe the next election is a decisive moment for our country’s future. Either the people who are actively trying to dismantle our democracy will prevail and continue on their destructive path — or they will be defeated.

That outcome will be decided in what we do in moments like this. And I’m not walking away from this fight until it’s won.
