Happy Pride!
This month is a time to celebrate our identities and uplift the LGBTQ community. We’ve made great strides towards equality in recent years, but there’s still work left to be done in the fight against discrimination. As one of the openly gay members of Congress, I’m proud to fight for the LGBTQ community this month and every month.
We’ve come so far, but LGBTQ Americans still don’t have comprehensive federal protections. That’s why I introduced the Equality Act into Congress, to finally pass sweeping protections for all Americans regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.
We passed it in the House, but Republicans in the Senate are dragging their feet. Will you join me in calling on the Senate to pass the Equality Act now? Comprehensive LGBTQ protections are long overdue, but this is the year we can finally sign them into law. [[link removed]]
SIGN ON » [[link removed]]The LGBTQ community has battled for decades to gain equal rights under the law. But unfortunately, not only do states across the country have lingering anti-LGBTQ laws on the books, they continue to pass new ones every year, including:
 *
   Banning
   trans
   students
   from
   participating
   in
   sports
   that
   correspond
   with
   their
   gender.
 *
   Allowing
   businesses
   to
   refuse
   services
   to
   LGBTQ
   customers
   based
   on
   religious
   beliefs.
 *
   Prohibiting
   trans
   people
   from
   accessing
   appropriate
   medical
   care.
In 2021, this is unacceptable. No one should be discriminated against because of who they are. The Senate has the power to change that by taking the Equality Act up and sending it to President Biden for his signature.
Will you sign on today to show the Senate that you want the Equality Act passed this year? [[link removed]]
