When my friend, Congressman Chris Pappas, was elected in 2018, he became the first openly gay person to ever represent New Hampshire in Congress. As our president would say, that's a pretty big deal.
Since then, Chris has worked tirelessly to serve New Hampshire -- and the rest of our country. And it's clear he's delivered results: in 2020, he was the first Democrat to win re-election to New Hampshire's First Congressional District in more than a decade.
Chris has been a champion for working people since day one, but national Republicans and Republican party leaders in his home state are doing everything they can to defeat him next year. Of the five seats they need to flip to take back the House majority, Chris's seat is at the top.
And to make a tough situation worse, the New Hampshire Republican Party chair pledged to gerrymander Chris Pappas out of his seat next year.
