We’re expanding our organizing staff, rolling out new tools, supporting mobilizations like the #StopTheBans and #LightsForLiberty protests and sending hundreds of thousands of texts empowering Indivisibles to call your Members of Congress.

Dear Indivisibles,

Summer is a hard time to raise money.

We know talking about money isn’t what you were looking for in your inbox on a Wednesday afternoon. But please, stick with us just for a minute.

We talk a lot about our “fundraising second” philosophy. In short, it means staying focused on strategy and only asking for the money we need to meet our budget needs. And if there’s breaking news or a major policy story our philosophy is clear: We don’t raise money until we’ve asked our movement (that’s you) to take action.

All of that said -- our 2019 and 2020 agendas are MASSIVE. We’re expanding our organizing staff, rolling out new tools, supporting mobilizations like the #StopTheBans and #LightsForLiberty protests and sending hundreds of thousands of texts empowering Indivisibles to call your Members of Congress.

Those big plans and tools take money to make them into reality. This month we’re hoping to raise $223,704 to support Indivisible Project (that goal’s based on our budget for tools, staff and more, and our past experience of what's possible.)

This is a long email, so if you already know you’re in, please, make a grassroots gift of $5 by midnight. Your gift will help us plan ahead for our most ambitious plans yet.

We know we send you emails on a lot of different topics, so here’s a quick refresher on a couple of the things we do that your donation will support (of course, it’s far from an exhaustive list!):

  • Online ads: We serve online ads to grow the movement, let people know what's happened in Congress and across the country, and activate more Indivisibles in the fight. And sometimes, we use those ads to lean on members of Congress to push our agenda forward.

  • Mass SMS communications: You’ve heard a lot recently about our text message program -- it’s the fastest way we have of getting information to Indivisibles fast about breaking news, events and bills. It’s MAJORLY effective, and also costs MAJOR $$$$.

  • Supporting local Indivisible Groups: Local groups all over the country are the backbone of our work. Here at HQ, we do everything we can to support their work, giving them the tools and training necessary to fight, and to win.

None of that work is easy, and none of it is quick, or cheap, but if you’re like us you’re excited to be a part of it. Really -- how many times do you get to say you’re literally Saving Democracy?!

Here’s the thing though: our biggest single source of money is grassroots donors, and with folks traveling or hanging out at the pool in the summer, it’s a particularly hard time to raise money.

You’ve always been there for us before when we really needed the help. If there’s any way you can scrape an extra $5 or $10 from your monthly budget, particularly in these slow summer months, we promise, we’ll put it to work in the best possible places.

All in to fight for the Indivisible agenda? Click here to rush a gift of $5 to help us raise $223,704 and help us budget for big new fights this month and beyond!

Here’s our promise to you: when you donate to support Indivisible Project, your donation -- of $1 or $100 -- goes to fighting for the progressive agenda and our Democracy. No matter if the dollar goes to supporting a local Indivisible group’s work, paying web hosting fees for a new Guide or something else, you can be assured that the money’s being put to the best use we can think of to push our agenda forward.

Thanks for reading this long email, and thanks for being a part of this movement.

In solidarity,
Indivisible Team
