Like me, Sharice understands what it's like to walk into a room of politicians and immediately stand out. In 2018, Sharice became one of the first Native American women elected to Congress. At the same time, she became the first openly lesbian member to represent the state of Kansas in the House.

Sharice ran for one simple reason: to make sure the government is working for the people. And she followed through on her promise this year when she was the only Kansas representative to vote in favor of the Equality Act -- legislation that would extend nondiscrimination protections to LGBTQIA+ Americans.

Sharice's voice is needed in our fight for justice, and national Republicans have taken notice. They are working overtime to defeat her in the midterm elections. That's why today, I'm teaming up with Sharice to help her fight back and make sure she can keep fighting for the people by my side in the House.
