The Biden administration has nominated former ATF agent and rabid anti-gun activist <[link removed]>, David Chipman, to be Director of the ATF. Chipman's contempt for gun owners was on full display <[link removed]> during his Senate hearing on May 26. Yet, the Senate Judiciary Committee is expected to vote in favor of his nomination on party lines this Thursday, June 17 at 9am <[link removed]>! This means you need to put pressure on your Senators TODAY!

It is noted by The Hill <[link removed]>, that in order to defeat Chipman on the Senate floor, all Republicans must vote against him and one Senate Democrat must defect to vote NO. This is where your effort and pressure come in. Chipman, by the way, is the same anti-gun federal agent that, according to The Federalist <[link removed]>, may have lost his own service weapon.

Chipman was an ATF agent for 25 years from 1988 to 2012, including serving as a case agent in the infamous Waco siege. After leaving the ATF, Chipman immediately began his anti-gun activism for Bloomberg-founded Mayors Against Illegal Guns where he advocated for “assault weapon” bans, magazine capacity restrictions, and upholding the NFA. Since 2016 Chipman has been been a Senior Policy Advisor <[link removed]> for Giffords anti-gun campaign.

In 2019 he told a U.S. House committee <[link removed]> that “Simply reinstating the 90s-era ban on assault weapons is not enough...Instead, we should regulate a broader class of firearms, including assault weapons manufactured before the law's enactment...while banning the future manufacture and sale of these firearms." He also recently stated that he supports a wholesale ban of the AR-15, and by implication, similar magazine-fed semi-autos. 



New York Times is reporting that the White House believes they have just enough votes to put this anti-gun activist in charge of one of the nation's largest law enforcement agencies. If you have already contacted your Senators to oppose Chipman, FPC wants to thank you for your action and encourages you to share our take action link with your pro-gun family and friends!
