As a critical supporter of Democrats, we wanted to alert you to this vital toss-up House race. Josh Harder has been serving California’s 10th District in Congress since he flipped this battleground seat from red to blue in 2018. He fended off a challenge from a Trump-loving Republican in 2020, but now this seat is a top target for national republicans in 2022 as they look to take back control of the House. We hope you’ll join us in the fight to protect our House majority in one of the nation’s most competitive races, but if you no longer wish to hear from us, you can unsubscribe at any time.
John,
I never thought I would run for office, but here I am serving as the Congressman for California’s 10th District. At 34, I’m one of the youngest people to ever serve in Congress. Not many folks thought we could win by refusing corporate PAC dollars. But we made history in 2018 when we flipped this Republican-held district, and again in 2020 when we fended off a challenge from a Trump-loving Republican.
In Congress, I am keeping the promises I made to voters: stay true to my progressive beliefs and be relentless in getting them accomplished. I'm a leading voice for campaign finance reform. I’m continuing to advocate for Medicare for All. I’m standing up for DREAMers. And I may have gone viral once or twice speaking truth to power against Trump and Betsy DeVos.
But because of my outspokenness, I’m already a top target for Republicans for 2022. My district is split 50/50 with Trump and Biden voters and Republicans see the opportunity to flip it this year. In fact, my district was one of the only California toss-up districts that didn’t flip red in 2020.
Holding this seat won’t be easy, but we can’t afford to back down — not when so much of our progress and control of the House is at stake.
I'm looking forward to keeping you in the loop on our fight to keep CA-10 blue. I won’t back down and we’re ready to win.
— Josh
