Bea was only 12 years old when she was first commercially sexually exploited while living away from her family. At 14 she often disappears, and has had multiple traffickers groom her with promises of love. She has been trafficked throughout the Puget Sound. (Boyer, 2019)
People like Bea are the reason why we work to prevent human trafficking
Through Empowered U, young people learn about the grooming tactics that traffickers use and how they can keep themselves safe while they're online, at school, and in the community by learning about boundaries, healthy relationships, and self-esteem.
