Hi, it's Nina.
Something that continues to haunt me to this day is my mother dying at the young age of 42 years old.
No insurance. No money in the bank.
So when I fight for Medicare for All, I’m fighting for my mama, who’s not here, and all working class people who must have health care as a right, not a privilege.
It is unconscionable that in the wealthiest nation in the world, we have such a thing as the working poor. Wealth should NEVER dictate whether you are able to see a doctor or live a good, healthy life.
Nobody should have to choose between paying for life-saving medicine and putting food on the table, but that’s the reality of life today for far too many families.
The truth is that the nature and the level of suffering in this country demands we do something different — that we do better by our people — that we do more.
I’m running because I have the courage to ask for MORE — more in the form of Medicare for All. But that means taking on the pharmaceutical companies and special interests that will spend millions of dollars to maintain the status quo that keeps them rich at our expense.
With these hands,
Nina Turner
