One in four women will experience domestic violence during her lifetime. The same number (one in four) of LGBTQ+ individuals will also experience domestic violence.

John, abuse is happening all around us, but most of us hardly ever talk about it or hear of it.

That’s why we’re observing Domestic Violence Awareness Month: to end the stigma and rededicate ourselves to action.

Suzan DelBene and the House voted for re-authorization of the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) in the House, but it’s been over six months since VAWA expired due to Mitch McConnell's failure to act.

Mitch McConnell might think there are more important things to do than ensure survivors’ safety, but there are still several ways you can take action to help combat domestic violence:

You can donate to a nonprofit that is working to end domestic violence.

You can sign this petition to demand Mitch McConnell and Republican Senators re-authorize the Violence Against Women Act.

You can share this post promoting the National Domestic Violence Hotline (1-800-799-7233) so people can get the help they need.

Because of your support, Suzan DelBene can advocate for laws that help to end domestic violence, support survivors, and hold abusers accountable. Together, we can continue to work for change in 2020.

Thank you,

Team DelBene
