It’s almost here -- today marks exactly two weeks until the FEC deadline. The FEC deadline is an important benchmark for our campaign, because that’s when our numbers will go public for everyone to see -- including Washington Republicans, dark-money outside groups, and potential opponents. Everyone will be looking at each other’s FEC reports after the deadline to size up which campaigns are the strongest and which are the most vulnerable.
The FEC deadline will be especially telling for the National GOP, which is scaling up its efforts to take back the House as we speak. Already, pundits say Washington Republicans have the upper hand in the race for the House majority, and recently, they’ve been breaking their fundraising records. Right-wing extremists who backed Donald Trump’s “Big Lie” of election fraud have been bringing in particularly massive fundraising hauls. Washington Republicans are laser-focused on one thing: taking back control of the House majority. I’m focused on issues that matter to Marylanders, like fixing the mail delivery issues plaguing the Postal Service, modernizing our infrastructure, creating good jobs for workers, and securing anti-discrimination protections for the LGBTQ+ community.
