Hi John,
I'm so excited to vote in the NYC election next week -- but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little jealous of who folks in Buffalo get to vote for!
The city could reach a new milestone this year -- and it's all thanks to
India Walton. India wants to give back to the community that raised her, and that's why
she's running to become the mayor of Buffalo (where in 189 years they've never elected a woman as mayor before!).
This week, I sit down with India to learn about the incredible journey that brought her to the Buffalo mayoral race.
She's had a tough life, and it's pushed her to pay it forward and serve those around her. After becoming a mom at 14 years old, and later giving birth to premature twins, she went on to become a nurse and later an executive at a non-profit. And now,
she's ready to bring the strength she's gathered over the years to the mayor's office.
