Dear John,

Can you believe it’s almost July? Jacinda Ardern and her team have achieved so much already this year, but we all know there’s much more for Labour to do.

All our Ministers are focused squarely on securing the economic recovery while keeping people safe, and working to address the long term challenges we have around child poverty, housing, and the environment. Meanwhile, at Labour HQ we’re focused on supporting their mahi and building on the momentum from 2020.

That won’t be easy. We have real challenges ahead, including our opponents’ deep pockets and the fact several of our electorate seats are held on a knife-edge.

But I know we can do it, working together as one. Our campaign is currently investing in growing our membership and supporter base, ensuring our party remains strong and connected. This requires supporting the hundreds of volunteers that fly Labour’s flag across the motu; keeping alive the momentum of our progressive movement, and supporting the people at the heart of it.

This work requires resources – but right now we’re not tracking to meet the mid-year goal. These targets are so important for us, even though they’re early, they can be the difference between a good campaign and a great campaign. So here’s the thing: we need to raise 6,000 more grassroots contributions before the end of June to meet our targets.

All it takes is $5 to help us reach our goal. <[link removed]>

Will you chip in?

DONATE NOW <[link removed]>We’ve already seen what’s possible when our movement comes together. Every contribution in 2020 played a key role in securing the Labour majority we have now. The work to prepare for the next election is underway, and ensuring we meet our financial targets is vital to realising our plans.

This year and next are critical to the success of a 2023 election. But funding this work takes a lot of grassroots power; we can’t lose our momentum, John.

Will you donate $5 today to ensure we’re on track for the next three years? <[link removed]>

Thanks for all your support.

Rob Salmond

General Secretary, Labour

P.S. Jacinda and her team are at work creating better futures for all New Zealanders. We are at work to help to safeguard this progress and win the next election, will you chip in? <[link removed]>
