Happy Pride Month!

This month, we have an incredible opportunity to not only celebrate LGBTQIA+ people but to finally guarantee their full civil rights and equality in America. We can do that right now if we abolish the Jim Crow filibuster and pass the Equality Act through the Senate. 

We need to work twice as hard to defeat the filibuster so we can deliver progress to the people — and it starts with supporters like you helping us build a movement big enough to achieve this change. We've made so much progress on LGBTQIA+ rights over the last decade. But twenty-nine states do not have laws that explicitly shield Americans from discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity — all the while, an alarming number of disgusting anti-trans bills have been introduced and passed by Republicans all across the country. We must quickly fight back against them. 

This fight to pass the Equality Act is deeply personal for my family and me. I'm the proud mom of an incredible trans kid, and I know how beautiful it is when trans and non-binary people can live freely as themselves and free from discrimination. 

But that freedom cannot be fully realized until we guarantee real equality and civil rights to every LGBTQIA+ person in this country, regardless of where they live. I am proud that the House did our part to pass the Equality Act — now, it's the Senate's turn to act with the urgency this policy deserves. They must end the filibuster, pass the Equality Act, and send it to President Biden's desk. 

Let me put it simply: it's the filibuster or LGBTQIA+ equality. I am counting on you to join me and our movement in choosing equality.
