I wanted to share this bit of exciting news with you personally: I’m officially launching my campaign for re-election as Governor of Wisconsin.

In a moment, I want to explain why the stakes in this election are higher than ever and how we’ll win this race: Can I count on you to chip in $10 to become one of the first donors to my re-election campaign?

We know this is going to be a tight race — Polling already shows this race within a single digit and Wisconsin has a reputation for having some of the closest elections in the country.

In 2018, we overcame Scott Walker’s heavy spending to deliver a major upset that many thought wasn’t possible.

In 2020, we overcame historic levels of GOP spending yet again by electing Joe Biden and Kamala Harris after Donald Trump and Republicans carried our state in 2016.

We need to replicate that magic once again — And you’re a key part of that equation.

If we aren’t successful, we’ll face another decade of rigged maps, GOP attempts to rip away healthcare access and protections, renewed attempts to ban abortion, and extreme restrictions on the right to vote.

My opponents reject science and refuse to accept or acknowledge how our climate is changing. As a former science teacher, I’ve pledged to lead with science from Day One and that’s how our state was able to lead the nation in vaccinations this spring.

Republicans sued me to overturn my Covid-19 health guidelines and they even tried to have me kicked out of office for telling folks to wear masks to keep our families safe — There isn’t a low my opponents won’t sink to in their attempt to unseat me.

Wisconsin is going to bounce back better than before from this pandemic, that’s what I’ve done and will continue to do as Governor. Wisconsin doesn’t need a Governor who bows to Donald Trump, spreads lies and hate, and who is willing to upend our democracy to hold onto power.

The stakes couldn’t be higher in 2022. So I’m asking: Will you be one of the first donors to my re-election campaign as we begin laying the groundwork for what will be, with your help, a campaign that keeps Wisconsin blue?
