John,
I don’t know about you, but I’m furious that the current administration continues to separate families at our border, lock kids in cages, and order ICE raids in communities across the country -- including our own.
This is a moment for outrage, and those who see what’s happening and say nothing are complicit. That’s a big reason why I’m running for Congress to defeat Dan Lipinski, and it’s why I have a plan to transform our country’s immigration policy.
If you agree that it’s time to end policies that use fear and divisiveness to suppress and deny immigrants’ rights, show your support for my plan by adding your name:

It is a moral imperative to support people who seek a better life in the United States, and that’s exactly what my plan will do. Here are some of the details:
- We need to recognize that the president's rhetoric has created significant spikes in violence against immigrants. I promise to vigorously fight racist rhetoric and racist acts, and to ensure that all immigrants -- including those seeking asylum -- are treated with respect and dignity.
- I’ll fight for Dreamers, starting with protections for DACA recipients, re-authorizing DAPA, and updating the DREAM Act.
- I’ll work to implement a path to citizenship that is unambiguous and expedient.
- We can’t have people missing opportunities or refusing medical care out of fear. I’ll make sure we work to provide immigrants access to health care, affordable housing, and jobs.
- We must address the root causes of migration from Central America to the United States. I’ll fight to restore humanitarian funding to border countries and other Latin American countries.
- And when I’m in Congress, we will close the inhumane camps on our border. The cruelty at these facilities infuriates me. I will object to any legislation that enables these detention camps or continues the horrifying practices we see from ICE under this administration.
Our country was built by immigrants. It is simply un-American to turn our backs on people coming here to build a better life for themselves and their families.
I face an opponent who said that Donald Trump would be the “champion” of immigration reform, an elected official who toured the camps at the border and thought we’re giving the guards a bad rap.
We can, and we must, do better than Dan Lipinski.
If you’re with me, add your name and let’s stand up for American values and bring dignity back to our immigration system:
